How I Work
I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly about what you’re going through, without judgment and at your own pace.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply curious about yourself, therapy can be a place to slow down and make sense of what’s happening.
-
My work is client-centred, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming.
This means:
We move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you
You’re never pushed to share more than you’re ready for
Your experiences, identity, and ways of thinking are respected, not pathologized
I also work from a feminist and anti-oppressive perspective, which means I consider how systems, culture, identity, and power may shape your experiences, not just what’s happening internally.
-
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our work together will be shaped by your needs, goals, and what feels most helpful to you.
Together, we might:
Explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions, or relationships
Make sense of past experiences
Learn ways to cope with stress or intense feelings
Build self-understanding and self-trust
Navigate life transitions or identity questions
There’s no “right way” to do therapy, we’ll find a rhythm that works for you.
-
I take an integrative approach, which means I draw from different therapeutic methods depending on what you need.
This may include:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Narrative Therapy
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Mindfulness and body-based practices
You don’t need to know anything about these approaches, my role is to guide the process in a way that feels clear and supportive.
-
A space where you feel heard and respected
A supportive relationship where you can show up as you are
Flexibility to go at your own pace
Both emotional support and practical tools, when helpful
-
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel nervous or unsure.
In our first session, we’ll take some time to get to know each other and talk about what’s bringing you in and what you are hoping for, and I may ask a few questions to better understand your experiences and history. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable, we’ll go at your pace.
You’re also welcome to ask questions and get a sense of whether this feels like the right fit for you.
We will meet online in a secure, private space, and I will guide the process so you don’t have to worry about what to say.
